Legacy of Faith: Day Two Provides More Inspiration

Friday, 17 April 2009 17:05

After a fantastic opening night, day two of the ICYFM brought us more inspiration to share a Legacy of Faith with future generations. The lineup Friday featured dynamic keynote messages, role-specific workshops, numerous classes, and panel discussions to hit many hot topics.

Steve Saindon kicked off the day with a morning devotional entitled "God's All-Time Greatest Miracle". An emotional tribute to Dan Rice highlighted the morning session. The tribute included a slideshow of Dan followed by a congregational song, "I Can Only Imagine". Before he passed away last summer, Dan was a member of the youth service team that helped plan this conference. In fact, it is Dan's life that has served as the inspiration for this year's theme: "Legacy of Faith".

Dave Pocta delivered the morning keynote session with a message entitled "Abraham: Living the Legacy". Dave's lesson taught of God's establishment of a covenant relationship with Abraham and his descendants (us). Two blocks of role-specific workshops came next with instruction for elders and evangelists, parents, youth volunteers, and youth ministers.

The evening session brought us a keynote message "Parents Living the Legacy" by Ron and Linda Brumley. Parenting classes followed with speakers such as John and Nancy Mannel, Wyndham and Jeannie Shaw, Bruce and Robyn Williams, and Steve and Tricia Staten.

Day Two closed out with panel discussions on various subjects: Middle School Ministry, Teen Dating, Adopted Children, Blended Families, and others.

Saturday's schedule will feature keynote messages from John and Barbara Porter, John Mannel, and Adrian Hill as well as men's and women's classes. To close out the conference, good news and videos will be shared to demonstrate all the amazing things God is doing around the world to establish a "Legacy of Faith" in our churches.

All speeches, classes, and videos will be available after the conference for free on www.liveit2giveit.org.
