Brittany Borman is competing in her second Olympics in Rio for Team USA Track & Field in the javelin. She trains in Southern California and began attending the Orange County EDGE Singles Ministry (within the Orange County Church of Christ) earlier this year.
Brittany had a great sense of God's presence and blessing in her life, and credits prayer and surrendering to him for her ability to qualify for the 2012 London Games on her final throw in the Olympic Trials.
And as she began to study the Bible, it was obvious that her heart was humble and very responsive to his Word. Brittany was baptized into Christ on May 1, 2016. Her mother and father flew out from her home town of Festus, Missouri to surprise her and show their support of her decision to confess Jesus as Lord!
The Bormans are a wonderful family, and very hospitable. During the recent 2016 North American Discipleship Summit in St Louis, my wife and I came early for some meetings. So while the Borman family traveled to Eugene, Oregon for the Olympic Trials, they offered up their country home to the Mead family for five days!
Brittany has been battling to stay healthy and reach her peak ability. Let's pray for her and show our support as she travels to Brazil to compete on Tuesday, August 16! She is responsible for some of her cost, as well as her coach and travel.
Go Brittany! Her favorite saying is #letgoletGod
