greater atlanta church of christ anniversaryThe Greater Atlanta Church of Christ recently celebrated our eighth anniversary with a joyful worship service and the appointment of new leaders. We thank God for allowing us to be part of his mission and see a small group of 40 people grow to almost 400. The GACC appointed 4 men who serve the church endlessly. Michael Patterson and Derrick Chisolm were appointed as elders. Burke Sisco was appointed as a teacher. Paul Vendryes was appointed as an associate minister. These men have been excellent examples of leadership for years.

Communion: Grammy-nominated music producer Khao Cates delivered an amazing message and testimony. He reminded us that everyone was born with a clean slate. Then sin enters the picture which causes us to create walls. Most spend the rest of their lives trying to break barriers and find inner peace. His life's motto is, "It's one thing to be successful and another to be significant." Although he was successful, he realized without God, there will always be something missing. Khao continued to pursue his relationship with God, and made Jesus Lord of his life. He said, "Music was my road to success, Bridge Da Gap was my road to significance, and following Christ is my road to heaven."

steve johnson gaccMessage: "Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit" -- Ephesians 2:19-22

Steve Johnson, from Portland, Oregon, gave a powerful message about the Kingdom of God beginning in our hearts. God is the greatest builder and through Him we are skilled. Jesus gave us the ability to build something that would last forever. Christ should be our cornerstone. Through Him, we will build a life that will not be destroyed.

The GACC has persevered through many obstacles over the years and we know God's grace is the reason we are being used to save this world one soul at a time. Please pray for our new leaders and all the young Christians who are striving to mature in their faith. We believe this is still just the beginning of the impact God will make through us. You should get involved and stay tuned!
