It has been an exciting first quarter for the St. George’s International Church of Christ in Grenada! Having re-launched our ministry in August last year, to God’s glory we grew in 2013 from 10 to 12 disciples as we focused on unity and teamwork.
Time To Believe
For 2014, we adapted the theme "Time to Believe,” and set out resolutely to lay foundations for the various ministries we desire to see in the future, and God has blessed our faith!During this first quarter, we held our first AGM, choose board members and organized the business side of the church, as well as appointed a new administrator, to make sure we keep our operations and activities above reproach. We were also able to officially launch our HOPE worldwide Grenada chapter, as we continue to look for ways to serve the community.
Here as some additional highlights so far this year:
• "Deeper" – Spiritual Enrichment Weekend in January. We had the pleasure of hosting Tony & Leslie Millet, Lead Evangelist and Women’s Ministry Leader from Trinidad, who gave us much-needed mentorship and encouragement, deepening the bonds of friendship with our churches.
• Our Youth Talent Show at the beginning of February, encouraged teens who love performance poetry, songs and stand-up comedy to “Keep Calm & Own the Mic!” – and over 15 teens visited, showcasing their exceptional talent!
• With only three couples in the church, we hosted “Couples Dance Night” for married and engaged couples mid-February – and God blessed us with five additional couples, who joined us for a wonderful evening of fun, food and fellowship, including Latin Dance Classes, writing "Love Notes," and just a great time of bonding together!
• In March, Richard & Romania were privileged to join the other Caribbean leaders in DR for a powerful weekend of teaching, “BUILD,” as they were equipped and encouraged to be expert builders – grateful for the church in Columbia, SC for sponsoring our participation!
“And the LORD added to their number…”
We have been inspired by God’s desire for the church in Grenada to grow! So far this year, there have been two more baptisms: Jackie, a married woman met during a HOPE project as disciples served helping to clean up a local school; and Arnold, a single man who works as custodian for the building where services are held! We have seen how God’s word has “drawn” them towards Him, and watched in amazement as their lives have changed to become disciples of Jesus and our brother and sister in Christ!
