E-Soccer Ministry Reaches the Hearts of Many

The Greater Las Vegas Church with the support of the Bay Area Christian Church (San Francisco) started an E-Soccer league for exceptional children. The program has had a deep impact on many.

“Our son loved it today. He felt like a normal kid, like he was part of something. I love that I can see my son actually participate in something,” said Crystal Simpson, whose son Jesse participated in the launch of E-Soccer in Southern Las Vegas.

"Jesse, who has muscular dystrophy and has to wear braces on both of his legs, has been on the sidelines his whole life. He has struggled to find a place where he can participate in physical and social activities with other kids his age." Like many of the parents who brought out their children to the launch this weekend, Lonnie and Crystal Simpson, Jesse’s parents, have been searching for programs like E-Soccer for years.

What you just read above is not a program... but something God created to teach us to love and reach people exactly the way Jesus did. What happens in Vegas cannot stay in Vegas! - Because what we saw and experienced is so full of the love of God. It is hard not to write a whole book about it!

For many years we have read about and watched E-Soccer/BACC impact and transform countless lives from children to adults. Seven years later, on Saturday, September 10th, God allowed the family of GLVC to experience His love, His power and His family working together for the good of many children. Families were brought together in love and perfect unity. He did this by bringing E-Soccer from the family in San Francisco's Bay Area Christian Church to Las Vegas. The family in the BACC took their time and their own funds to travel to Las Vegas to further train and help us make E-Soccer amazing! E-soccer is soccer for exceptional children.

Together, we learned how to love and serve as His family! Also, a huge thank you to Kelley Clark our director who worked tirelessly to make this day amazing!

Here is a brief description from the BACC - The first season of “Southern Nevada E-Soccer” kicked off yesterday morning at 10 am at Mesa Park in Las Vegas. 130 kids ages 3-5 participated in Session 1 from 10am – 11am; 140 kids ages 6-14 participated in Session 2 from 11am – 12 noon. (We believe over 400 people were at this event.) From the Bay Area, the BACC sent a team of 9 veteran E-soccer coaches, some of whom are teachers and therapists from the Hope Technology School, to help the Las Vegas volunteers launch the first of what will be many successful seasons in Southern Nevada. An additional three coaches even drove overnight Friday to be there to assist with the launch on Saturday. Please watch this brief overview of our first E-Soccer event in Las Vegas.

Pam Bowers sent this picture to us and said: "To see this picture of these three disciples and their son is what E-Soccer is all about. Look closely or you could miss it. Love! To see God at work through them is beyond words... One mother said to me on Saturday ... 'This is magic... No... This is love!' "

There are many things we try to do build up the church. However, E-Soccer is one of the most natural and loving ways I have ever seen God meet the needs of so many at one time. As Greg B from the BACC lead our communion yesterday he mentioned when he saw all the moms, dads, grandparents and children coming over the hill how it reminded him of Matthew 9:35... When Jesus saw the people He had compassion on them!

E-Soccer will allow you to see children with special needs, their devoted parents and families just as Jesus did... with compassion. E-Soccer brings the people to Jesus, which allows Him to pour out His compassion onto them through His Disciples and others. No one leaves unchanged! No one! God allowed us to love and serve people in ways I have never seen. E-Soccer also builds unity and family with love... The BACC and the GLVC will forever be one in love for our passion for E-Soccer and touching the lives of people in need.

I urge all of you to pray and consider bringing this life changing and revolutionary ministry to God's church in the city you serve, to His people and yes, above all else... your life. I get so busy doing the work of the ministry I forget to bring compassion along at times ... God used E-Soccer to teach us all how to do the work as Jesus did... with love and compassion. We were forever changed this weekend... I knew seven years ago and I know now even more so that God will use E-Soccer ALL over the world to change and impact countless lives. We just saw the proof of God's compassion at work.

A huge thank you to our family in the BACC for your GREAT love and sacrifice to help us change ... so that we can change the lives of thousands upon thousands. We love you!
