It is hard to believe that our amazing Hawaiian Fellowship Cruise (April 27 - May 9, 2014) is now a memory. But what a memory it is!
The next day, Sunday was an exciting time as we were able to worship with the Oahu Church. Then we were off to the ship (Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas) to begin our sea voyage. As we sailed around the beautiful islands, we were able to fellowship together as we took in God’s beautiful creation and shared our evening meals. We will never forget the hugs and tears as we met with our sister in Hilo.
After being inspired by the islands with their mountains, waterfalls and volcanoes, we began our final trek toward Vancouver. Each of the five days at sea began with a devotional and sharing by some of the sisters and brothers. After the devotional, the singles were divided into “encouragement groups” and the marrieds had a fun “mini” marriage seminar at sea. Sunday gave us another opportunity to worship together and invite friends we met on the ship.
After a very smooth and sometimes very chilly sailing across the Pacific Ocean, we came to the beautiful city of Victoria, Canada, and finally to Vancouver.
Again, the church in Vancouver showed incredible hospitality to those who stayed on in their city. The great fellowship along with hiking and a couple of other activities were highlights for many of the disciples.
How wonderful it is to have the fellowship of disciples, to share experiences, visit new places and learn from each other as we vacation together!
I am so grateful to Roger and Marcia Lamb and Disciples Today for making these cruise/tours possible so that we can connect with each other from around the world! We prayed for them in the loss of their son and missed them.
Our next opportunity will be the popular “Steps of Jesus and the Apostles” cruise/tour sailing the Mediterranean in October 2015 that will include three days in Israel! Already, 36 people have signed up!

Highlights of the trip included:
“Getting to know other sisters and brothers, spending quality time with them and not just "surface time," bonding! I loved meeting with the singles in the Honolulu church, they really went all out for us and I appreciate it! I enjoyed every excursion that I took in Hawaii (except the "sleeping" volcano. Lol). It just makes me want to go back, see everything I missed and take my mother. I was also encouraged by the effort the sisters in Vancouver made to make us feel welcome during our short stay there. It was incredible!”
“Our time together was very encouraging and valuable. The time with my brothers and sisters was important and whether there were group dates (well-planned or not) or game nights, it was good fellowship all around.”
“Just being able to relax and stare at the ocean. Fantastic tours. Sticking my feet in the ocean!”
“On behalf of all the excursion folks who visited Vancouver, we were overwhelmed with the goodwill and sprit that embraced us by the disciples of the Vancouver Church who were so enthusiastic and welcoming to us, capping off our Hawaiian trip in grand style.”
