UCONN Ministry Seeks Paid Woman Campus Intern

The University of Connecticut sits in the northeastern corner of the state in between Hartford and Groton and southwest of Worcester, Massachusetts. There are well over 20,000 students who flock annually to study at U Conn in Storrs, CT, and over 110 countries are represented in the student population. For eight years in a row, U.S. News and World Report has ranked U Conn as the number one public institution in New England. Perhaps this is because four out of ten incoming freshmen are in the top 10% of their high school graduating class and 8 of 10 come from the top 25%. It may also be because in the past 13 years there have been eight NCAA Division I national championships, 32 Big East tournament wins and 40 Big East regular season titles. For whatever reason, the growth of the school has flourished for years and millions of dollars are being pumped back into her academic and athletic endeavors.


However, the U Conn campus has a big need and doesn’t even know it. Many students need to hear about the one true God and His plan for their lives. So in the summer of 2008, the International Missions Society is supporting a plan to put two campus interns onto the campus and begin a spiritual revival. Danny McDougal, a graduating senior from Northeastern University, has already agreed to serve as the staff intern for the men. Danny has led as a campus intern for years in Boston and been effective in sharing his faith with many. He is setting aside his degree in engineering and taking a bold step of faith. Danny is moving from one Husky campus to another (mascot) and is ready to take what he has learned and put it into practice at a place dieing for the good news. There is a group of about 20-30 adults and children who will be the support congregation as the campus ministry begins. They will meet regularly for services with the college crew as the planting begins. So much is ready. There is only one, key missing piece . . . . We are presently beginning a search process for the female intern to serve along with Danny in the ministry. Please pray about this opportunity and if you personally catch the dream, respond.
