Meeting Needs in Unexpected Ways
What do you say when someone sneezes? If you’re like many people, you’ll respond with a cheerful “bless you.”New Media by Gordon and Theresa Ferguson and Douglas Jacoby
He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." (Rev.21:5)
These past few years have seen a fresh breeze of growth and change in our fellowship. Disciples around the world are exercising their gifts in new ways, to serve one another and advance God's Kingdom as never before.
As we know, one of the ways God speaks to us is through the written word. This tradition continues to this day, as his people come forward with new books to instruct and strengthen his church, bringing new insights into the inspired message of the Bible.

Remembering the Poor
All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. (Galatians 2:10)
Growing up in the barrio (the Latino ’hood) of East Los Angeles, Ed and Lona Aguirre learned early on what it means to be in need. They spent their formative years in a tough neighborhood where it’s almost impossible to remain neutral in the gang rivalries; you’ve got to pick a side, one or another, if you want to stay alive. Like many families they relied heavily on public assistance and food pantries, just to get by.
Understanding Islam: A Book Review
On September 11, 2001, I awakened to the morning news on KNBC in Los Angeles. Anchorman Kent Schocknek reported that a large airplane had struck the World Trade Center in New York City. An odd sight, since this part of Lower Manhattan wasn’t on the flight path for any of the major airports in New York.
Of course, within just a few hours, we all knew what happened: That plane (along with three others) was hijacked by Muslim terrorists. In an instant, our national sense of safety and invulnerability was shaken as never before.
