Message from Disciple in Cairo

Thursday, 03 February 2011 16:03

Thanks for your concerns and prayers -- they are needed. As you know the main protest is in downtown where it connects all the areas together. What is affecting us is that prisoners escaped from prisons and they are attacking the houses and stealing them. They are criminals and you can imagine what they can do. So every man in each building is obliged to go down and protect his building with other men. Our street got attacked 5 times and I heard that lots of disciple faced the same thing

The protest started on the 25th of January towards the end of the month so all the banks were and are still closed so nobody got paid. All the ATM machines are closed and some are ruined because of the people who are stealing. People are with NO CASH and little food. Prices are so high now and not everything is available in the supermarket.

It is a very difficult time especially with no security whatsoever. Carrefour was robbed and burnt and it has more than 40 outlets. A huge supermarket, cars are burnt and bad people stole a clothes shop that makes army clothes so they are wearing it telling people they are police or army... it is very chaotic and messy

Again thanks for your concerns. I read what you said about the Middle East and you said the right thing. Bless you.
