A Great Weekend with Ed Anton in the Boston Campus

Written by  Kevin Miller Sunday, 02 March 2008 15:00

The Boston Campus was encouraged in faith this past weekend, Mar 1st to 3rd, as Ed Anton, evangelist and teacher in the Hampton Roads, VA Church, came and preached the word to the college students from Boston, Springfield and Connecticut. He preached on Friday about, “Overcoming Stubborn Sin” and as the college students discipled one another in D-groups to well past 11pm, Ed could be seen moving from D-group to D-group bringing the word to bear in the Christian’s lives. Ed spent the day on Saturday leading a study with a Harvard Freshman football player, and training our interns on the topic of following, “The Good Shepherd”, followed by a fun night of food and fellowship with the Boston campus students. The highlight of the trip was Sunday when Ed preached about, “The Revolutionary Jesus”, and 2 of our newly converted Christians, Jen Johnson – a Junior at Tufts and Mike McDuffee – a freshman at Wentworth Institute of Technology, shared about what led them to be converted just last week. As the service ended we baptized Lui, a Harvard sophomore, who was met door knocking the dorms of Harvard. Lui’s baptism was the 4th Harvard baptism in the last 6 months and the 5th conversion in the downtown Boston Campus Ministry this year. It has become one of the highlights of the campus in Boston to, at least once a semester, bring in another campus minister from another church to help, encourage, disciple and assess our campus ministry in our pursuit of glorifying God and spreading his word. Last semester Troy Criss came and this semester it was Ed Anton. Both visits have already born fruit in the areas of conversions, faith, prayer, and unity. May God bless us all as we strive for his unity and build it up between our churches. Amen.
